Call for Papers

Conference Heading towards e-Competent Schools

After three successful conferences on innovative and creative use of ICT in teaching, learning and in school management, the upcoming conference will focus on how to help educational institutions to become e-competent schools, kindergartens or institutions as such.

Principals, teachers, nursery teachers, researchers and other experts at all levels in educationare invited to participate at the conference with contributions on the use of ICT. Only contributions that haven’t been presented or published at other conferences or in reviews may be submitted.

Participants are invited to submit:

a. papers/abstracts*,
b. symposium presentations (up to 20 minutes)
c. short presentations (up to 15 minutes)
d. demonstrations of materials or other digital tools digitalnega used in teaching (up to 20 minutes)
e. workshops (45 or 90 minutes)
f. posters (during the conference)
g. sponsor's presentations (up to 15 minutes)

 

Some proposed themes for submissions::

a. Didactic use of ICT

- The use of ICT in  individualisation or mixed-ability classrooms 
- Cross curricular issues
- The use of ICT for child/teenager/adult participants in education, teachers, co-workers and parents cooperation
- Strategic games (such as: Cossacks, Age of empires ...) in education
- The use of ICT in lesson planning, classes and assessment
- The use of ICT in problem-based teaching and learning
- The use of ICT for stimulating children and teenagers’ innovativeness and creativity
- The use of ICT in cooperation (on national and international level) with other schools, pupils/students
- The use of ICT in e-learning
- Computer-assisted experimental work
- The use of ICT in the classroom, laboratory and fieldwork
- Virtual worlds in education

b. School Informatization Policy Making


- Introducing ICT for administration-management processes at schools/institutions
- The obstacles in introducing ICT in schools/institutions
- How to get funding for new equipment
- ICT introducing strategies 

c. E-learning materials

- Preparation, production and the use of diff erent electronic and / or multimedia materials and diff erent web based materials in lessons and self-studying

d. Internet safety, law and ethic values in using and publishing information

- PChildren and on-line (un)safety – awareness of (un)safety and possible protection
- Safety and private rights

e. The use of ICT with vulnerable groups – e.g. children with special needs


f. Research in the fi eld of ICT in education

Important dates

- Papers/abstracts are due by January 20th 2010
- Proposed abstracts of presentations, workshops and posters are due by  January 20th 2010
- Information about accepted papers/abstracts is due by   March 4th 2010
- Information about accepted or rejected corrected contributions, presentations and posters is due by  March 10th 2010

Papers/abstracts, presentation, workshop and poster's abstracts have to be prepared according to the rules published on the conference webpage prispevki.sirikt.si

Contributions (presentations, workshops, posters) covering
other themes can also be submitted. It's important that the content of the contribution is linked to the use of ICT in education or teacher-training. Contributions presenting the use of ICT in practice, the way of introducing ICT, the user’ responses and the eff ects of the use of ICT are mostly welcome as well as contributions presenting the results of research about trends in the fi eld of ICT use in education or teacher-training.
